Kennedy Banks-Battle

Kennedy Banks is a professional dancer and choreographer born and raised in Chicago, IL. She began her training at the Russell Talbert Dance Studio, continued her training at The Chicago High School for the Arts and went on to receive her BFA in Performance and Choreography in 2021 at The University of Missouri-Kansas City. During her time at UMKC, she worked with numerous world-renowned choreographers and instructors.

Kennedy has choreographed works for festivals throughout the country, as well as collaborated with composers Isaiah Collier and Angel Bat Dawid.

She is currently based in Kansas City, MO working as a freelance choreographer and performer, and full-time teaching artist with Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. Kennedy recently completed her two-year residency cycle with Charlotte Street Foundation, and is co founder of both The Chicago Black Artist Union (https://www.chibau.org/) and MOVEMENT HOUSE.
